Park Attendant

Responsibilities

• Open and close the park; maintain cleanliness of restrooms, ensuring they are sanitized, replace tissues and paper towels, and mop floors.
• Check supplies and equipment: toilet paper, paper towels, toilet brush, plunger, garden hose, cleaning disinfectant, push broom, mop, bucket, trash can liners, electric blowers, and extension cords.
• Notify the Maintenance Foreman to reorder supplies and purchase needed equipment.
• Report any maintenance, vandalism, or unsafe conditions throughout the park.
• Ensure the park is vacated before leaving each evening.
• Monitor park participation on Saturdays and weekday evenings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of St. Mary's County Government policies and procedures.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and established procedures for operating equipment and ensuring public safety.
• Understanding of principles, practices, and procedures of various construction and maintenance projects.
• Basic math and language skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Ability to lift or handle heavy tools or materials of 60 pounds or more.
• Experience driving heavy vehicles.

Work requires constant physical effort, including lifting heavy items and operating heavy vehicles. The environment involves high risks and exposure to potentially dangerous situations or extreme outdoor weather conditions, requiring a range of safety precautions.
