Calumet City Plumbing (CCP) is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager, Specializing in Sewer and Water who is an analytical thinker with the ability to assess complex situations, identify solutions, and make sound, timely decisions.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all phases of construction projects from initial planning and scheduling through execution, compliance, and closeout. This role ensures every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and field teams. At CCP, we recognize the need to provide competent 24-hour emergency repairs as well as new construction and alterations.

Calumet City sits near the Illinois-Indiana state border, and it is approximately 22 miles south of Chicago’s downtown area with access to the city and other regional areas.

  • Lead and manage project managers and field crews across all aspects of jobsite operations.
  • Coordinate schedules for contractors and field staff to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys, document existing conditions, and develop detailed scopes of work including inclusions, exclusions, and project classifications.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal, industrial, and environmental projects.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, responding promptly and professionally to questions, concerns, and project updates.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and external partners throughout all project phases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Estimating, Budgeting & Procurement

  • Compile comprehensive job cost estimates for project bidding and develop accurate budgets and workflow timetables.
  • Collaborate with a network of subcontractors and material suppliers to secure best-value pricing, timely estimates, and consistent quality on every project.
  • Order materials and maintain inventory for both stock and project-specific items.
  • Manage change orders including review, negotiation, and documentation.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure all projects meet applicable legal, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Conduct site evaluations, inspections, and quality control reviews throughout project lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify and resolve compliance issues in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager specifically in sewer and water, construction environment.
  • Plumbing and utility construction experience is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with construction management software (e.g., Foundation or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, contract documents, and project specifications.
  • Solid understanding of building systems, construction materials, and engineering concepts applicable to water and sewer infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with construction methods including directional drilling, backhoe operations, trenching, confined space entry, and excavation.
