Science Gen Ed Teacher - Calumet , IL

A contract role is available for a dynamic Health Science Teacher who is passionate about cultivating curiosity and delivering impactful science education to young learners. This position is located near Calumet City, IL, and runs from ASAP through May 21, 2027, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference.

As the dedicated Health Science Teacher, youll lead engaging lessons for middle school students, bringing science concepts to life and preparing them for future academic success. This is a strictly onsite role at the junior high level virtual options are not accepted. A strong background in health science or related fields (such as chemistry, anatomy, or other sciences) is highly desired, with a preference for candidates holding a Health Science endorsement.

• Valid teaching license with a Professional Educator License (PEL) is required (substitute licenses will not be considered)
• Experience or endorsement in health science, chemistry, anatomy, or related sciences
• Proven ability to engage middle school students in science content
• Commitment to fulfilling a 33.75-hour weekly schedule

• Design and teach comprehensive health science curriculum to junior high students
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
• Assess student understanding and adapt lessons to meet learners needs
• Collaborate with school staff and participate in school community activities
