Responsibilities
  • Under general direction, act as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Perform or delegate tasks to execute and fully complete assigned projects including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Be responsible for the overall financial results of assigned projects including costs, project billings, and collections; maintain customer satisfaction and profitable and accurate project financial results; actively pursue selling change orders.
  • Coordinate communication with the customer during all phases of the project; ensure proper execution of warranty.
  • Provide work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary.
  • Ensure work performed is in compliance with the AHJ and applicable Local, State, and Federal legal requirements and operate with high ethics.
  • Adhere to safety standards and ensure Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards.
  • Assist in the execution of projects across various services (controls installation, mechanical installation, security & fire, HVAC equipment support) within the SSNA portfolio.
  • Complete installation design and software programming using established standards; communicate design and operation to customers and teams.
  • Pursue additional work through change orders; evaluate contractual scope and impacts of directives and scheduling changes; communicate technical and business issues to clients.
  • Manage material selection, ordering, budget, and delivery schedules; secure pricing and availability from outside vendors and subcontractors; oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes.
  • Coordinate job site activities for panel and field device locations; ensure installation meets Johnson Controls standards and project requirements.
  • Manage loading, device verification, and commissioning of system controllers; validate complete system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors; provide as-built and commissioning documentation.
  • Manage project costs, billings, and collections; maintain profitability and positive cash flow through best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and technical assistance to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, and System Designers; support subcontractors as needed; ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget and contract scope.
  • Communicate project status to management; provide monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin.
  • Send warranty letters upon substantial completion and ensure proper warranty execution.
  • Develop project plans and coordinate required resources to ensure timely and cost-effective installation and completion;
  • Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system and provide proper documentation and manuals for system operation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors; attend job progress meetings as required.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers on bundled jobs to deliver cost-efficient solutions that exceed customer expectations.
  • Follow all safety standards and uphold a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
