Maintenance Worker (flexible schedule

• Physically and technically able to perform the essential functions of the position, including but not limited to
• Boiler maintenance and operations
• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system maintenance and operations
• Mechanical equipment maintenance and operations
• Small appliance repair
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and outside work.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds;
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to read and explain basic operating instructions and blueprints;
• Ability to plan work and write reports;
• Available to work various shifts as required;
• Possess a valid Asbestos Worker's license;
• Possess a valid Illinois/Indiana driver's license;

Building Foreman

Provide a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment which facilitates the learning process, and which is consistent with the mission statement of District 215: "To provide diverse learning opportunities that inspire all students to become life-long learners who contribute to their community."

• Exhibit a cheerful and customer service attitude to all staff and student personnel.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, routine building operations, routine grounds maintenance, minor construction, and other maintenance-related work as assigned by the Building Foreman.
• Work in compliance with established safety procedures.
• Inspect facilities to ensure safety and security by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours.
• Keep assigned work area(s) neat and clean at all times.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and instruments in an efficient and safe operating condition.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position requires employee to reach with hand(s) and arm(s); frequent standing and walking; requires ability to use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear. Occasionally required to climb ladders and/or balance; occasionally required to move and/or lift more than 50 pounds.

• 12-month work year;
• Starting wage is $28.00/hour plus appropriate shift differential
• IMRF pension
