Assistant Maintenance Supervisor – Affordable Housing

Salary: $25.00 - $27.00 | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 40hrs | On‑Call Rotation

In this role, you’ll work alongside the Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to keep operations running smoothly while mentoring team members and ensuring every apartment and common area meets our high standards.

What You’ll Bring As an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor
  • 4–5+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience.
  • Experience with painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs; HVAC experience or willingness to learn is a plus.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring maintenance staff preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational training or certifications in HVAC, building maintenance, construction, environmental hazards, or related fields are a plus.
  • OSHA knowledge preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to respond to on‑call emergencies within 30 minutes when scheduled.
  • Experience monitoring inventory and purchasing maintenance supplies within budget.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
    Yardi Voyager experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, customer service, and problem‑solving skills.
How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Support the Maintenance Supervisor in overseeing maintenance operations and serve as backup when needed.
  • Coordinate apartment turnovers, make‑ready units, punch lists, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Perform and assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, groundskeeping, and general building maintenance.
  • Monitor maintenance requests to ensure timely completion and communicate updates with the Community Manager.
  • Coach, mentor, and train maintenance team members while addressing performance concerns.
  • Maintain maintenance shops, storage areas, tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working condition.
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors by reviewing quality, cost, and timeliness while assisting with project bids.
  • Monitor maintenance inventory and purchase supplies within approved budgets.
  • Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, emergency on‑call responsibilities, and support nearby Conifer communities when needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining safe, attractive, and well‑maintained communities for residents.

Additional Schedule Expectations

Work schedules may change based on business needs and property performance. Weekend hours, including Saturdays, may occasionally be required to support leasing activity, occupancy needs, resident engagement, rent collections, or other operational priorities. Weekend coverage is scheduled on a rotating basis.
