Assistant Custodian

South Range Local School District is seeking an Assistant Custodian Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Custodian to join our team. As an Assistant Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This is a vital role in ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for our students, staff, and community. Responsibilities:

* Maintain clean and orderly classrooms and hallways

* Dust mop and mop floors daily

* Empty and replace trash liners

* Clean and sanitize restrooms

* Respond to radio calls and custodial requests

* Coordinate floor scrubbing a minimum of three times per week

* Ensure classroom desks and surfaces remain clean

* Clean and maintain stairways

* Remove dust and debris from around doors, recycling containers, and pencil sharpeners

* Move wheeled furniture and equipment as needed for thorough cleaning

* Assist with setup and support for after-school activities and events

* Collaborate with fellow custodians to complete cleaning assignments efficiently

Requirements:

* Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles preferred

* Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation

* Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision

* Strong attention to detail and time management skills

* Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and standing for extended periods of time

* Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and respond to inquiries or requests
