Assistant Custodian

South Range Local School District is seeking an Assistant Custodian

Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Custodian to join our team. As an Assistant Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This is a vital role in ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for our students, staff, and community.

Responsibilities:

Maintain clean and orderly classrooms and hallways

Dust mop and mop floors daily

Empty and replace trash liners

Clean and sanitize restrooms

Respond to radio calls and custodial requests

Coordinate floor scrubbing a minimum of three times per week

Ensure classroom desks and surfaces remain clean

Clean and maintain stairways

Remove dust and debris from around doors, recycling containers, and pencil sharpeners

Move wheeled furniture and equipment as needed for thorough cleaning

Assist with setup and support for after-school activities and events

Collaborate with fellow custodians to complete cleaning assignments efficiently

Requirements:

Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles preferred

Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and standing for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and respond to inquiries or requests
