Salary: $18.50 per hour

- Perform facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, landscaping, etc., and janitorial work as directed to ensure the facility is maintained in proper condition.
• Maintain security of all tools and cleaning supplies.
• Inspect buildings and equipment for any safety violations and fire hazards; ensures compliance with local and state building and fire codes, and health and safety standards.
• Respond to facility maintenance and custodial requests in a timely manner; ensure that the facility meets all safety requirements. Notify supervisor immediately of any unsafe conditions that may jeopardize the wellbeing of staff and residents.
• Operate a motor vehicle to run errands to pick up necessary supplies for maintenance department, as needed, to ensure they are on hand to keep the facility running smoothly.
• May be directed to conduct maintenance projects; ensure their completion and inspect the work to ensure conformance of standards.
• Be available on an "on-call" basis in order to serve the needs of the program and resolve any emergency safety conditions.
• Performs other duties as required / assigned.
• Communicate with residents and staff in a professional manner to affirm and enhance self esteem and dignity and to maintain positive resident / staff relations.
• Complete in-service training to meet the requirements for continued personal and
professional self-development.
• Maintain confidentiality obtained through job duties regarding employees, vendors, residents,
outside agencies, etc., so that sensitive information is only given on a "need to know" basis.
• Comply with Apis work rules and policies as explained in the company Employee Handbook. - Respond positively to directives from managers and supervisors in a cooperative spirit to ensure conformance to standards.
• Comply with facility safety rules; take appropriate corrective action to ensure work is performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes a team spirit and sense of cooperation.
• Ability to make repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years related experience in general maintenance, including electrical systems; or a combination of education and experience as approved by the facility director.
• Working knowledge of heating and cooling systems preferred.
• Must have knowledge of equipment necessary for performing duties. - Colorado unrestricted driver's license.
