Laborer PT​/Seasonal - Sanitation

Hourly Rate: $11.19-$18.21

This position is open to everyone; no experience is required. This is a great role over the summer for anyone looking to get their start with the Sanitation Department. Help keep The Hall of Fame City clean.

To be eligible, all applicants must be at least 18 years of age and either a U.S. citizen or provide a copy of their valid Permanent Resident Card.

This is a part-time and seasonal position with variable daily work hours. The shift starts at 6:00 am. Shift end time varies based on daily routes.

Rides on and/or follows behind a refuse truck, goes from property to property collecting refuse and/or recyclables materials and returning it to the truck for disposal.

This position requires heavy physical work. Therefore, employees in this class must be in good physical condition. Repetitive work is expected to be performed. Duties must be performed efficiently.

• Serves as a laborer. Responsible for discarding household trash, yard waste, and/or recyclable materials and placing containers back properly.
• Responsible for personal safety practices, safety of crew, driver, and traffic in general.

Physical ability to work outdoors in extreme and adverse conditions is a must. Ability to carry out oral and written instructions with minimum detail. Must possess adequate communication skills and deal tactfully with citizens of the public.

High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
