See all the City of Canton has to offer and how you can play a part. Work as a laborer to assist the dedicated team members in collecting refuse and recyclables. Help keep the Hall of Fame City clean!

Hourly Rate: $11.19-$18.21
ShiftThis is a part-time and seasonal position with variable daily work hours. The shift starts at 6:00 am. Shift end time varies based on daily routes.
General Statement of DutiesRides on and/or follows behind a refuse truck, goes from property to property collecting refuse and/or recyclables materials and returning it to the truck for disposal.
Distinguishing FeaturesThis position requires heavy physical work. Employees in this class must be in good physical condition. Repetitive work is expected to be performed. Duties must be performed efficiently.
ResponsibilitiesServes as a laborer. Responsible for discarding household trash, yard waste, and/or recyclable materials and placing containers back properly. Responsible for personal safety practices, safety of crew, driver, and traffic in general.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Physical ability to work outdoors in extreme and adverse conditions is a must. Ability to carry out oral and written instructions with minimum detail. Must possess adequate communication skills and deal tactfully with citizens of the public.
Acceptable EducationHigh School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
Drug & Background TestsCandidates may be subjected to a drug test. Eligibility is not considered final until a negative result is obtained.
Candidates may be subjected to a confidential background investigation, including but not limited to a criminal record check and driving record check.
