Job SummarySuperior Dairy is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the 3rd shift. In this role you will oversee all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring safety and high equipment uptime. You will lead a team of skilled maintenance technicians, provide guidance, troubleshoot plant equipment, and coordinate with operations.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the maintenance workforce on a day‑to‑day basis
- Provide direction and oversee all assignments allocated to maintenance technicians
- Review planning and scheduling with the maintenance manager
- Audit and ensure the quality of work performed by technicians
- Effectively convey and schedule maintenance activities with operations
- Evaluate the qualifications of technicians and recommend training or development as needed
- Replace and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies
- Identify corrective actions for technicians
- Manage technicians’ schedules and timecards
- Supervise the preventive maintenance program on manufacturing equipment
- Minimize equipment downtime through corrective and preventive maintenance
- Lead and assist with capital improvement projects throughout the facility
- Oversee installation and electrical set‑up of new or moved machinery
- Assist with mechanical repairs throughout the facility and on machines
- Analysis of equipment problems and identification of root causes
- Project management skills
- Technical reading and supervision skills
- Ability to lead and direct continuous improvement concepts
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, charts)
- Knowledge/experience with PLCs, digital and analog sensors
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems
- Experience with servo motors, encoders, pumps, gearboxes, steam, and ammonia
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory/leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Blow molding experience (plus)
- Ammonia and boiler systems experience (plus)
- Union experience (plus)
- Food facility experience (plus)
