Job Summary

Keeps buildings clean and orderly. Performs heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

• Location:
  
  Canton High School, 1110 West Highway 243, Canton, TX 75103 (openings at other school district locations available).
• Schedule:
  
  Full‑time Monday through Friday, hours may vary. Full and part‑time flexibility available.

• Fixed pay rate: $11.50 per hour.

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and return furniture to correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas with assigned materials and equipment, sanitizing all surfaces and following the eight‑step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors; shampoo carpet.
• Contribute to the team; exhibit professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Background check required.
