ScheduleFull-Time – 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Occasional weekends. Alternate shift:
Monday‑Friday 3:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Occasional weekends.

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Assistant will assume responsibilities for overall maintenance of the facility. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, painting and repairs inside and outside the facility to provide a safe, attractive and orderly environment for the benefit of residents, staff and visitors. The role conducts routine tests and inspections on facility systems and implements programs to meet the facility’s goals and objectives.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of trade or vocational school, with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC equipment, refrigeration and electricity preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years full‑time experience in construction or maintenance of equipment, utilities and buildings preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in a healthcare facility preferred
- Knowledge of state building, plumbing and electrical codes and ordinances
- Knowledge of basic machinery and tools
- Ability to operate lawn and yard equipment
- Works with the Director of Facilities to develop and review maintenance policies and procedures annually
- Plans, schedules, supervises, delegates and participates in maintenance and repair work, including masonry, carpentry, painting, gardening, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning and heating; monitors staff for timely completion
- Establishes a preventative maintenance schedule and recommends building equipment improvements
- Keeps accurate records of equipment and maintenance performance
- Performs periodic maintenance audits of building, grounds, facility and equipment
- Maintains a current inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, equipment and stock
- Conducts routine tests of various systems and equipment, including emergency generator, fire alarm, sprinkler system, hood and duct system, door alarms, call lights and hot water system
- Administers personnel functions of the Maintenance Department
