Join our team as a Pastry CDP! Utilize your culinary skills in a 5 Star Hotel setting. Develop new dishes, maintain food hygiene standards, and supervise kitchen operations.
Pastry CDP at The Silo Hotel
Reporting to: Manager
Type: Permanent
Location: CPT - CBD
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow and lead by example according to our Purpose and Values.
- Manage and train demi-chef de parties or commis in the pastry section.
- Assist Pastry chef in developing new dishes and menus.
- Ensure high standards of food hygiene and safety protocols are adhered to.
- Monitor portion control and waste to uphold profit margins.
- Undergo formal training to enhance cooking skills.
- Conduct stock taking in the Pastry Kitchen.
- Supervise workloads during shifts.
- Uphold hospitality standards and excellence.
- Minimum 3 years experience in pastry section of a 5 Star Hotel with high tea service.
- Relevant culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds diploma or equivalent.
- Strong cooking skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
