Basic Objective:

The Facilities Lead leads maintenance functions responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of:

  • Chemical Storage Tank Farm
  • Chemical Transfer pumps
  • PLC, control systems and instrumentation
  • Air compressors, fans, and other utilities
  • Other process equipment
Building and Facilities
  • Electrical and plumbing
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
  • Security systems
  • Other building systems
Specific

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promotes Safety First culture.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Reviews and writes procedures and maintain maintenance documentation updated.
  • Manages inventory of parts and critical equipment.
  • Works with Engineering Department to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments.
  • Collaborates with team members and other departments to discuss upcoming work assignments; plans and schedule work based on necessary trades (electrician, mechanic, instruments technician, and others)
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Assists team members with troubleshooting equipment and systems malfunction, relying on internal and external SME.
  • Inspects work performed by vendors and contractors.
  • Manage contractors’ timesheets, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
  • Responsible for procurement processes for materials and services, including contract management, purchase orders organization and invoice compliance.
  • Installs and repairs facilities systems and equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma with Technical Trade Certificate or equivalent required.
  • At least five years of maintenance/facilities in an industrial and laboratory environment experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial process equipment and building systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to plan and schedule them as necessary.
  • Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory. Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Experience working on an operating site and high hazard site
  • Experience with cGMP and ISO standards
  • Experience reading and commenting P&, PFD, and other technical drawings.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and drive to succeed. With excellent interpersonal skills, will be able to work effectively in a team and on their own initiative, leading a team as required.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be proficient in IT (Office packages)
Physical

Job Requirements:

Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Work with and around forklifts. The employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear.
