Position OverviewThis opportunity is for a technical Field Operator III / Chemical Technician to support safe and efficient field operations within a production environment. The Field Operator III / Chemical Technician will play a key role in maintaining operational continuity, monitoring equipment and wells, and supporting maintenance and wellwork activity. This position is well suited to candidates with strong field operations knowledge, a high standard of safety awareness, and experience working in technically demanding environments.
The role offers the chance to contribute directly to reliable production performance and day-to-day operational excellence.
This role sits within pipeline and well operations and supports ongoing production activities in the field. The working environment involves close coordination with operations and maintenance personnel, including communication with an Operations Shift Supervisor and support for Wellwork activities. This opportunity is focused on maintaining safe operating conditions, responding to operational issues, and supporting efficient field performance.
Key Responsibilities- Operate equipment and wells in line with operating procedures, safety guidelines, and daily operational plans.
- Monitor wells and equipment continuously to identify corrective and optimisation actions that support safe and reliable performance.
- Coordinate, control, and monitor corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Perform simple maintenance tasks as part of equipment care responsibilities.
- Provide clear and accurate shift handovers to maintain continuity of operations and updated unit conditions.
- Record relevant operational events, abnormalities, and deviations within the work area accurately.
- Take product samples for laboratory analysis and carry out field laboratory tests.
- Report alarms, emergency issues, incidents, and shutdown system concerns in line with established procedures.
- Support emergency response activities and maintain strong communication across the work team.
- Assist with diagnosing well production problems and provide support to Wellwork operations when required.
- Completed secondary education.
- Previous experience working as a Field/Production Technician, or Lease Operator.
- Extensive knowledge and/or experience of pipeline operations.
- Strong knowledge of safety and operations management tools and processes.
- Strong knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and commercial agreements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High standard of safety, health, and environmental awareness.
