Cleanup Supervisor

International Minerals Carlsbad LLC is seeking a safety-focused Cleanup Supervisor to lead and coordinate cleanup and basic maintenance activities within an active mining and industrial environment. This position supervises the cleanup team, assigns daily work, monitors job performance, and helps maintain safe, clean, and reliable operating areas.

The Cleanup Supervisor is responsible for overseeing conveyor-system inspections and cleanup, material buildup removal, washing, baghouse maintenance, and the use of jackhammers, shovels, and related tools. The ideal candidate has experience leading employees in a mining, manufacturing, processing, construction, or other heavy industrial environment and demonstrates sound judgment when managing workplace hazards and operational priorities.

• Supervise, direct, and support cleanup team members during assigned shifts.
• Plan daily work activities, assign responsibilities, and monitor work through completion.
• Conduct pre-shift discussions and communicate safety expectations, job hazards, and operational priorities.
• Ensure employees follow company safety policies, established procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Promote employee participation in company-sponsored safety programs and reinforce accountability for safe work practices.
• Identify, assess, and help control risks and hazards within assigned surface operating areas.
• Coordinate the cleaning and maintenance of surface conveyor systems and surrounding work areas.
• Oversee the removal of material buildup using jackhammers, shovels, washing equipment, and other approved tools.
• Direct belt conveyor skirting repairs and other routine maintenance activities within the team’s assigned responsibilities.
• Ensure inspections are completed on conveyor components, including rollers, idlers, drive systems, and mechanical and vulcanized splices.
• Review inspection findings and promptly communicate maintenance concerns, equipment deficiencies, and unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate baghouse cleanup and maintenance activities.
• Maintain clean, orderly, and hazard-controlled work areas.
• Monitor the proper use, condition, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Train and coach employees on cleanup procedures, equipment use, hazard recognition, and work expectations.
• Monitor employee attendance, work quality, productivity, and compliance with company policies.
• Coordinate cleanup activities with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and other departments.
• Maintain required work records, inspection documentation, and shift reports.
• Respond appropriately to changing operating conditions and help resolve routine work issues.
• Complete required IMC University training related to belt conveyors and ensure assigned employees complete required training.
• Perform other operational, cleanup, or supervisory duties as assigned.
