The Area Supervisor is primarily responsible for providing janitorial coverage and executing special janitorial projects as directed by the Area Manager at multiple customer sites throughout the assigned territory. Daily communication with the Area Manager is paramount to ensure clear expectations of assignments for each work shift. This is considered an on-call position, so flexibility paired with the willingness to work in emergency situations is essential.
Responsibilities:Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- This position requires travel.
- Provide both planned and emergency janitorial coverage at customer sites in the event of employee time off and/or callouts.
- If all sites are covered, provide additional support on special cleaning tasks as directed by the Area Manager.
- Flexible shift times may include some weekends.
- Communicate daily with the Area Manager regarding the schedule for that day.
- Perform all contracted cleaning duties for customer facilities using Service Master products, tools and procedures. Basic cleaning duties may include emptying trash and relining cans, low dusting and/or wet wiping of horizontal surfaces, vacuuming, dry and/or wet mopping, special areas cleaning such as restrooms and breakrooms, restock soap and paper products.
- Inventory and deliver cleaning supplies and equipment to customer sites as requested and directed by the Area Manager.
- Clock in and out of timekeeping system accurately each work shift.
- Manage building security with discretion; including safeguarding hard keys, key fobs, badges, lock boxes, etc.; and turning OFF/ON building alarm systems, if applicable.
- Review the Service Master Clean yellow logbook daily and respond in writing to written requests from building management.
- Professionally receive instruction, direction, and training from the Area Manager.
- Wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided while performing cleaning tasks (i.e. cleaning gloves, face masks, anti-slip shoes, etc.).
- Report all safety/repair/security problems and/or environmental hazards to the Area Manager immediately for further instructions.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Handbook, paying special attention to health and safety procedures.
- Additional tasks assigned.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Must have a Working Smart Phone with active service/data.
- Flexibility in schedule and reliability to show up to work.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently while multi-tasking.
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple, written instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Effectively manages time and meets deadlines.
- Prior professional cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to stay active on foot for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
