Apartment Maintenance Technician—Carpentersville
Full‑time position with a competitive pay range of $24‑$25 per hour.
Schedule:
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (hours may vary)
- Monday to Friday
We’re looking for a skilled and dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician who is reliable, detail‑oriented and can work independently in a fast‑paced team environment.
Key qualifications include:
- Reliable transportation
- At least 1 year of experience in apartment maintenance, facilities, or residential construction
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and team members
- Familiarity with basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance maintenance
- Ability to work independently, follow directions, and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
What you will be doing:
- Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
- Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally
- Maintain property grounds by removing trash, leaves, branches, and other debris to keep common areas clean and attractive
- Support the completion of unit turnovers and make‑readies, including painting, repairs, and cleaning as needed
- Assist in preventative maintenance efforts to extend the life of property systems and equipment
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
- Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
- Participate in an on‑call schedule for after‑hours maintenance emergencies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
