As a Custodian at Dundee Township Park District, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that supports our community by keeping our recreation spaces clean, functional, and safe. From room setup to snow removal to daily cleaning routines, you’ll help ensure a positive experience for all guests, program participants, and staff.

• Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting restrooms
• Operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners
• Move furniture and equipment; assist with event setups and breakdowns
• Handle minor maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing/electrical work)
• Maintain vending machines and manage trash disposal
• Respond to weather needs including snow shoveling and salting walkways
• Lock/unlock facilities, arm/disarm alarms, and ensure building security
• Support part‑time staff and assist with training when needed
• Report larger maintenance concerns to supervisor and uphold safety standards

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with facility cleaning and maintenance preferred
• Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of safety procedures
• Leadership skills and ability to guide or oversee part‑time staff when needed
• First Aid/CPR certification recommended (or willingness to obtain)
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as scheduled

This is a part‑time position with weekend availability required. Weekend differential increases pay to $17.00 per hour. Typical hours:

• Saturdays & Sundays between 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. – Midnight
• Hours may vary based on programs or facility rentals

• 1‑week training required during weekdays (7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) prior to regular shifts.
