Shipping Administrator

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting Shipping Management in the control of logistics planning, coordination, and acquisition of shipping services for the operation, by performing various tasks associated with evaluating shipping needs, obtaining, organizing, and generating the proper documentation for items to be shipped and arranging movement of freight.
• Directs and coordinates the activities of workers involved in the preparation of same-day international and domestic shipments.
• Maintains and updates shipping-related systems, monitoring the shipping activities to ensure the quality of service, and customer delivery expectations consistent with company policy and performance standards.
• Attention to detail is an important part of a Shipping Administrator job. He/she/they are normally required to record all pertinent information for each package shipped. This data generally includes tracking information, weight, dimensions, and special notations regarding fragility, hazardous materials, or unpacking instructions.
• Observe safe work practices, keep the work area clean plus other duties as assigned. Safety glasses and safety shoes are required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Manager or Assistant Manager.
