Maintenance Technician

Part‑time, Sunday‑Tuesday, 20 hours/week

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair duties across the property. The position requires the ability to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, and to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Teamwork across departments and effective communication with staff and residents are essential.

• High School Diploma, GED, or some college credits from a technical school; or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in all aspects of apartment maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and appliance repair; experience with drywall repairs and painting are essential.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• You enjoy a positive, service‑oriented attitude and a sense of humor while working hard to provide excellent service.

• Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members.
• Identify and report broken equipment or uncertain conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and safe condition that meets safety regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, building, and grounds as required.
• Maintain a positive customer‑service attitude in interactions with staff and property residents.

This position entails standing for long periods. Employees are required to communicate effectively, use hands to handle equipment and objects, read computer screens, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment has a moderate noise level and may require occasional travel to different locations.
