Responsibilities- Installs, troubleshoots, repairs machinery and mechanical equipment, and performs highly diversified preventative maintenance operations.
- Performs scheduled plant preventive maintenance activities on machines, equipment, and plant facilities as well as emergency and unscheduled repairs with the objective of optimizing plant performance and plant operating efficiency.
- Reads manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.
- Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
- Detects faulty operations, defective materials, and reports any unusual situations to management.
- Utilizes a computer to prepare documents, use work order system, and maintain records.
- Maintains repair parts and supply inventory.
- Maintains tools, vehicles, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
- Complies with and ensures that peers and subcontractors demonstrate safe work practices in compliance with Federal, State, and local codes and with company safety policies and procedures.
- Conducts safety inspections on assigned vehicles, plant equipment, and facilities.
- May work weekend, holiday, or emergency shifts independently with and without supervision.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment.
- In‑depth knowledge of system maintenance.
- Basic word processing and computer database skills.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Regularly stand, walk, and may sit for extended periods of time.
- Regularly use hand‑eye coordination, grasp, manipulate, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions.
- Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds using mechanical equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
- Office Environment:
This position does not operate in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. - Plant Environment:
This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty/dirty conditions. Where applicable PPE is required. PPE includes hard hats, safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
- HS Diploma required.
- College degree or technical training in a related field (preferred).
- 3‑5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- CalOSHA 10 (preferred).
- OSHA Forklift Certification (preferred).
- CPR & First Aid Certification (preferred).
