Do you enjoy working outside and with your hands? The NC State Parks has a Maintenance Construction Technician III position available. This role is responsible for maintaining state park grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment. Position assist park rangers and additional maintenance staff performing custodial duties, park boundary line clearing and maintenance, trail maintenance, trash collection, mowing, trimming, prescribed burns and/or auto mechanics.
Key Responsibilities- Performing a variety of skilled tasks in a trade such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance, and/or auto mechanics.
- Operating various large and small tools and equipment.
- Purchasing resources in accordance with state purchasing policies and procedures.
- Maintaining records and preparing operational forms.
- Assisting in housekeeping.
- May supervise temporary and/or permanent employees including various volunteers and community service participants on special projects.
- Maintaining preventative maintenance on various tools, equipment and facilities.

Qualification:
May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart
F.
- Demonstrated work experience performing trades in at least two of the following: carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.
- Demonstrated experience in performing grounds maintenance/landscaping.
- Demonstrated experience in performing maintenance on buildings, facilities, and/or grounds maintenance equipment.
- Demonstrated experience reading and/or interpreting blueprints/structural specifications and/or building codes.
Recruitment Range: $39,671 – $55,000. To receive credit for your work history and credentials, you must provide the information on the application form.
