Utility Operator

Armstrong Service in partnership with R.J. Reynolds is currently interviewing for full time Utility System Operator in Winston – Salem and King, NC.

Compensation is hourly wage paid weekly.

Employees are responsible for the reliable delivery of high‑quality utilities and customer service.

Responsibilities include daily 24/7 operation and maintenance of high‑pressure water‑tube boilers, open and closed‑loop chiller and HVAC systems, compressed air and vacuum systems.

• Must demonstrate safe behavior, self‑motivation, flexibility in working shifts, good communication skills, and a CAN DO attitude.
• Basic mechanical and electrical skills to perform troubleshooting and repair.
• Basic computer skills required for logs and other communications.
• Experience required: 2 to 5 years in utility systems operation (hands‑on and distributed control systems experience preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Education required:
  
  High School or equivalent.
• Background and earnings check will be required.

• Walking, climbing stairs and ladders.
• Operating computer keyboard and mouse.
• Operating radio and phone devices for communications.
• Keyboarding/typing.
• Turning valves and operating other industrial equipment.
• Driving automobile and other mobile equipment.
