Job Description

ECU Department of Earth, Environment and Planning is currently seeking a lab assistant to help with the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, labs, equipment, and vehicles.
The position will report to our Facilities Maintenance Technician, Scott Rose. The department supports a diverse range of research and teaching activities; duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning and general maintenance of Geological Science labs
  • Cleaning, organization, and maintenance of field and lab equipment
  • Cataloging equipment and materials for surplus or storage
  • Washing and detailing department vehicles and assisting with vehicle maintenance
  • Assisting with the organization, maintenance, and set up of departmental spaces, such as offices, computer labs, and class labs
  • Other duties as assigned to support the work of the Facilities Maintenance Tech
GPA Requirement

GPA Requirement Minimum of 2.0

Experience with geoscience labs and equipment is preferred but not required.

License/certification required

Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to pass a driver’s license verification background check.
