Our client is a global leader in advanced composite materials supporting the commercial aerospace, defense, and space industries. Their products are used on virtually every major commercial and military aircraft produced worldwide. They are seeking an experienced Site Manufacturing Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead maintenance operations, facilities engineering, equipment reliability, and capital improvement initiatives for one of their flagship aerospace manufacturing facilities in Casa Grande, Arizona.
This highly visible leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing assets across a complex, 24/7 production environment.
The Site Manufacturing Maintenance & Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall reliability, maintenance strategy, facilities infrastructure, and operational readiness of a large aerospace manufacturing campus operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This leader oversees maintenance personnel, contractor partners, capital improvement projects, and reliability initiatives while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Quality, and Supply Chain to maximize equipment performance and support future manufacturing growth.
The successful candidate will inherit a strong maintenance organization and help mature existing systems by improving maintenance planning, predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, spare parts management, and long-term asset strategy.
1) Maintenance Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop approximately 40 maintenance professionals across multiple trades and disciplines.
- Build a culture focused on safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop supervisors and future maintenance leaders through coaching and succession planning.
- Establish clear performance expectations while maintaining a highly engaged workforce.
- Develop and execute long-term maintenance strategies supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
- Improve equipment reliability, uptime, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Lead Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for significant equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Improve maintenance planning, scheduling, and work management processes.
- Oversee plant utilities, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, wastewater treatment, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, and facility assets.
- Ensure facility readiness for customer, regulatory, and aerospace quality audits.
- Support Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Management (PSM), and Environmental Management System (EMS) initiatives.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize operational disruption.
- Lead equipment installations, facility upgrades, and manufacturing modernization projects.
- Coordinate engineering resources, outside contractors, and specialized vendors.
- Manage maintenance budgets, capital expenditures, and contractor performance.
- Support future automation, robotics, machine vision, and advanced manufacturing initiatives.
- Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant leadership experience.
- Approximately 10+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading maintenance organizations supporting complex manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and control systems.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractor relationships, and capital improvement projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred
- Reliability Engineering experience.
- Predictive and Preventive Maintenance program leadership.
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) implementation.
- CMMS experience (Maximo, SAP PM, or similar).
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
- HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance certifications.
- Robotics, automation, or vision system experience.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Continue maturing the site's TPM program.
- Strengthen maintenance planning and scheduling processes.
- Improve spare parts strategy and inventory management.
