Maintenance Mechanic 1 - ACAP

Start rate: $34.15 per hour during the New Hire Orientation Period (normally 90 calendar days). After orientation, rate increases to $35.95 per hour. This position is on Swing shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday) with a $1.75 per hour shift premium. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities- Maintain, analyze, and improve deficiencies of Acousti‑Cap equipment and process. Disassemble equipment as necessary and repair or replace faulty components using a variety of hand tools.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers. Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformity to specifications.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine need for adjustments or repairs. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. Monitor feed and speed during machining.
- Complete mechanical repairs and/or improvements on a variety of processes, equipment, fixtures, and unit operations in the ACAP Work Cell and Engineered Products.
- Replace hydraulic and pneumatic parts as needed, including bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, cylinders, and other interchangeable components.
- Repair and replace all types of pumps. Perform basic pipe fitting, plumbing, threading, and layout.
- Work on weekends and holidays when requested. Must have a full working set of essential mechanical tools.
- Perform equipment and process checks to ensure they are operating correctly, producing a quality product within specification. Note any drifts within specification.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance activities on Acousti‑Cap equipment following defined PM instructions and schedules.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with duties commonly associated with that of a mechanic/mechanical maintenance person.
- Technical degree in the area of expertise from an accredited college or technical school preferred and may substitute for 1 year of experience.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, including blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
