Position Overview

Hexcel is a globally recognized leader in advanced composite materials manufacturing. We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic1 to support operations at our Casa Grande, AZ facility.

Compensation and Shift Details

Start rate: $34.15 per hour during the New Hire Orientation Period (90 calendar days). Regular rate: $35.95 per hour. Shift premium: $1.75 per hour. Shift schedule: 2– Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday (Week1) 7:00PM to 7:00AM;
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Week2) 7:00PM to 7:00AM. Overtime often required.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and analyze equipment or facility deficiencies and perform necessary repairs.
  • Disassemble equipment and repair or replace faulty components using hand tools.
  • Complete mechanical repairs or improvements on a variety of processes, equipment, fixtures, and unit operations.
  • Act as a millwright by installing and ensuring new and modified production equipment operates correctly.
  • Fabricate replacement parts as required.
  • Replace hydraulic and pneumatic parts as needed.
  • Change bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, cylinders, and other interchangeable components.
  • Repair and replace all types of pumps.
  • Perform basic pipe fitting, plumbing, threading, and layout.
  • Work on weekends and holidays when requested.
  • Maintain a full working set of essential mechanical tools.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with duties commonly associated with maintenance mechanic roles.
  • Technical degree in the area of expertise from an accredited college or technical school (preferred and may substitute for 1 year of experience).
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Valid driver license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
