Position: Municipal Worker I - Community Litter Collection

Multiple Seasonal Positions

Seasonal Municipal Workers for the period of April 17 to September 30 2025, working up to 32–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Reporting Structure

Receives general supervision from higher‑level supervisory and management staff in the assigned division.

Responsibilities

Manual labor tasks such as cultivating and fertilizing flowers, grass, and shrubs; basic building maintenance; shoveling snow, mowing, and basic irrigation; clearing and maintaining landfill ditches; storm water maintenance; repairing and maintaining roadways; and working with crews performing basic construction and maintenance repairs.

May operate dump trucks with snow plows, front‑end loaders, backhoes, boom trucks, forklifts, light sanitation vehicles, tractors, mowers, jackhammers and a variety of other related tools, equipment and vehicles as needed.

Basic inspection, repair and maintenance of equipment.

May assist with installing street signs, barriers, and painting street markings.

May receive cash, count cash and operate a cash register; may complete daily operational reports.

Light cleaning, litter pickup and/or housekeeping activities.

May assist with work on special projects.

Provides general customer service and communicates with the public regarding fees, policies, rules and general information about the facility or event.

Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.

Follows all City safety procedures. Reports all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Minimum of one year of experience performing manual labor in construction, energy or manufacturing industry, building maintenance, or grounds maintenance utilizing light hand or power tools preferred.

Licensing and Certifications

Possession of, or ability to obtain within six months of hire, a valid Wyoming Class B Commercial Driver’s License with applicable endorsements per assigned division is preferred.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. May include long periods of sitting or long periods of standing.

Medium work:
Exerting up to 90 pounds of force using jackhammers occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
