What You'll Do:

  • Assist in maintaining all electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems in the building in coordination with the Property Manager.
  • Perform painting and structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Collect and discard trash in outdoor trash containers according to lease schedules; ensure local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of supplies, trash, rubbish, and waste are followed.
  • Comply with all OSHA, sanitary, environmental and safety requirements.
  • Maintain clean and orderly entrances. This includes removing snow and snowmelt material.
  • Perform monthly changing, inspecting and log chart on all emergency exit signs, HVAC filters and fire extinguishers.
  • Assist other departments and tenants as requested, including moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Liaise between property managers, tenants, and external vendors to coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to obtain quotes, schedule repairs, and ensure work is completed satisfactorily.
  • Fill in for Third Party Custodian when absent.

What We're Looking For:

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education with one to two (1-2) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to operate machinery, equipment, small power tools, and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.

Preferred Education, Experience and/or Abilities

  • Maintenance duties require the physical ability to climb and work on stairs and ladders, stand and work on hard surfaces for prolonged periods, and perform moderate to heavy moving, lifting, and carrying of supplies, parts, and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds or more. Must have normal or correctable vision and hearing.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • English language fluency, verbal and written.
  • Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
