The Rangely Campus is located in the northwestern corner of Colorado and is perched on a rocky bluff above the town of Rangely, along the White River, and close to the Utah border.

The Town of Rangely is situated in western Rio Blanco County, in the valley of the White River, in northwestern Colorado, 13 airline miles east of the Utah border. Road access to Rangely is provided from the south (Grand Junction) by Highway 139 and from the east and west by Highway 64, which is Rangely's Main Street. Economic activities are centered on energy resources such as the Rangely oil field, high-grade coal deposits and extensive natural gas reservoirs.

Rangely is on the far western side of the State of Colorado, roughly 300 miles west of Denver, and 250 miles east of Salt Lake City. Northwest of Rangely, Highway 64 links with Highway 40, a major east-west artery.

Note: Work schedule for this full-time position will be Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the department. Occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability will be necessary, particularly during peak operational periods and inclement weather. An essential function of this position requires exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs.

Performs general labor tasks involving strenuous physical work across all Colorado Northwestern Community College owned and leased facilities. Responsibilities include event setup, furniture moving, custodial services, trades assistance, and seasonal snow removal to maintain safe, clean, and functional campus environments.

• Load and unload furniture, equipment, and supplies
• Move furniture and other objects based on work requests and facility inspection findings
• Perform minor, repetitive repairs and maintenance on equipment and buildings
• Assist with event room setups for campus meetings, classes, and college functions

• Perform general custodial tasks to ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities, including cleaning, disinfecting, sweeping, mopping, window washing, and vacuuming
• Empty trash and recycle bins; pick up trash throughout campus
• Maintain paper and hygiene products in restrooms
• Respond to service calls and work orders; conduct required facility inspections

• Provide general labor support to grounds, structural, electrical, and mechanical trades
• Assist with painting, wall repair, and mounting fixtures
• Reset breakers and replace light bulbs or fixtures
• Assist with minor plumbing repairs and HVAC maintenance tasks

• Perform seasonal snow and ice removal during winter weather conditions to ensure campus walkways, entrances, and parking areas remain safe and accessible
• Work varied hours as needed, including before or after regular work schedules, to respond to winter weather conditions
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support campus operations

Residents and non-residents of Colorado may apply and be hired into this position as the work will be performed primarily at a location that is within 30 miles of the state border.

Candidates must demonstrate mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to perform physical work involving hauling, lifting, moving, digging, and repetitive general maintenance and repair tasks. Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff in a diverse college environment are essential.
