Job DetailsJob Type: Full-time with overtime
Experience: 2 years preferred (Will train)
Reports to: Plant Manager, no supervisory responsibility
Wage: $80,000 - $90,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)

A ready mix plant dispatcher will play an important part in the daily duties of a ready mix plant, assisting with projects including building roads, bridges, houses, commercial buildings, and more. A dispatcher will take customer orders, determine yardage, and coordinate the delivery of concrete. Primary Responsibilities- Batch concrete using manual and computerized systems.
- Prepare daily and weekly run schedules for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot problems in a dry batch concrete plant and with rear discharge mixers.
- Take customer orders and determine yardage.
- Schedule available trucks to meet the orders.
- Communicate professionally with customers and team.
- Order and coordinate deliveries from our suppliers.
- Have a working knowledge of the various ACI tests.
- Follow directions from supervisors and operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Administrative duties as necessary.
- Complete all required paperwork with the use of tablets or cell phones to ensure proper accounting and timekeeping practices (pre-trip inspections, time reporting, truck reports, trip tickets, etc.).
- Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects.
- Team player mentality and eagerness to cross-train on topics such as dispatching, batching, mechanics, etc.
- Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
- Class A or B CDL and current Medical DOT card.
- Have a basic knowledge of concrete finishing problems and their causes.
- Self-motivated and able to solve problems as they arise.
- Personal protective equipment is required.
- Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.
- Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
- A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
- Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
- Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
