Part-Time Custodian II Floater (5:00‑10:00 PM)

SALARY RANGE: $21.06 per hour

POSITION TYPE: Part-time

• General cleaning: sweeping, cleaning carpets and blinds, emptying waste receptacles, cleaning toilet facilities, filling dispensers
• Clean light fixtures and replace bulbs
• Perform yard work: mowing, trimming, general cleanup, marking athletic fields
• Keep walkways and entries clear of ice and snow
• Assist with receiving and storing supplies for the building cafeteria
• Move and arrange furniture for school functions
• Carry out additional requests from the building principal and engineer as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and use of materials, tools, and equipment
• Ability to perform minor building repairs
• Ability to plan, organize, and carry out work schedules efficiently

• Excellent physical condition and willingness to work in adverse weather conditions

• Valid Iowa Driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record

The position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, using hands and fingers, squatting, stooping, kneeling, reaching above the head, and pushing/pulling or lifting/moving heavy objects. Representative demands include climbing ladders with a 10‑lb load, shoveling 30 lbs, pushing/pulling 40 lbs per hand, lifting a 50‑lb bucket, moving an 80‑lb load for 20 feet, and occasional exertion of up to 100 lbs.

The environment is usually quiet but may involve operating equipment where hearing protection is recommended. Work occurs indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, sleet, icy) on damp surfaces such as tile, wood, terrazzo, and concrete.

Schedule: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM (5 hours per night)
