Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Planner/Scheduler/Attendant is responsible for improving workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles through proper planning and coordination of maintenance activities. This role develops detailed job plans, ensures the availability of parts and tools, and prepares work schedules to optimize equipment uptime, ensure safety compliance, and support production goals.
Key Responsibilities Planning, Scheduling, Attendant- Develop detailed job plans for maintenance tasks, including labor, materials, tools, and safety requirements.
- Create weekly and daily maintenance schedules in coordination with supervisors, technicians, and operations.
- Prioritize work orders based on equipment criticality, safety, and production impact.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance tasks are planned and scheduled to minimize downtime.
- Track and report maintenance backlog and schedule compliance.
- Review incoming work requests for accuracy, priority, and scope.
- Break down complex repairs into clear, actionable steps for technicians.
- Assign realistic labor hours and identify special skills needed for tasks.
- Close out work orders by validating completion notes, updating history, and ensuring accurate data entry into the CMMS.
- Identify required spare parts, materials, and tools for each job plan.
- Coordinate with the storeroom or procurement team to ensure parts availability ahead of scheduled work.
- Minimize equipment downtime by ensuring all resources are ready before job execution.
- Manage inventory, collect, inspect, and store incoming parts and tools. Conduct regular inventory counts and audits.
- Issue and distribute tools, materials, and parts to maintenance personnel.
- Monitor inventory levels and prepare requisitions to keep stock at required levels.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and accessible stockroom layout. Ensure all items are correctly labeled and stored in their designated locations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all inventory transactions and related paperwork.
- Work closely with the maintenance and procurement teams to ensure smooth operations and coordinate inventory forecasting needs.
- Serve as a liaison between operations, maintenance supervisors, and technicians.
- Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and job requirements effectively.
- Support supervisors in balancing emergency work with planned activities.
- Analyze maintenance performance metrics such as schedule compliance, mean time between failure (MTBF), and equipment downtime.
- Recommend improvements to planning and scheduling processes.
- Support reliability and root cause analysis initiatives.
- Maintain accurate equipment history and job plans in the CMMS.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in industrial maintenance, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of maintenance, reliability, or planning/scheduling experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in a stockroom, warehouse, or parts environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, Infor, or similar).
- Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project).
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical ability.
- Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) principles.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to spend time both in office and on the plant floor.
- May be required to walk, stand, or climb to access equipment areas.
