Various Locations/ELSC Reporting Structure Reports directly to the Custodial Supervisor.
Job Summary:
The Custodial Support Specialist serves as a key technical resource responsible for maintaining high sanitation standards across all district facilities through staff education, oversight, and operational audits. The Specialist drives operational excellence by onboarding new hires, retraining staff to meet performance standards, auditing facility cleanliness, and assisting in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Custodial Support Specialist provides second shift staff with general operational support, ensures equipment and asset protection, and monitors supply control to maximize budget efficiency.

Qualifications:
- Experience:
35 years of progressive commercial or institutional custodial experience, with a proven track record of coaching or training personnel. - Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. - Technical Knowledge:
Proficient in institutional chemical safety, cleaning standards, and complex floor-care machinery operation and instructional demonstration techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook for reporting and data management. - Competencies:
Strong technical writing capability for SOP collaboration, effective problem-solving skills under minimal evening supervision, and strong instructional and interpersonal coaching skills. Demonstrated ability to apply the principles of continuous improvement, utilizing data and quality tools to optimize custodial operations. Capacity to represent the District in a professional manner, demonstrating confidentiality, collegiality, and high ethical standards in all interactions with staff and administration. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve operational problems independently. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs safely. Tasks may involve moving heavy custodial equipment, climbing ladders, and handling various cleaning tools and supplies throughout the shift. - Certifications:
Possession of a valid driver's license. Driving record must meet District eligibility requirements.
