WhatYou’ll Do
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining overall cleanliness, Life Safety, and operational functioning of the community in compliance with local, OSHA, state, and federal regulations. This position is a key position that works collaboratively with the Maintenance Director.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Perform maintenance services inside residents' apartments and common areas.
- Follow a maintenance schedule and instructions.
- Adhere to procedures regarding infection control, food‑borne illness prevention, harmful chemical handling, fire, safety, and sanitation.
- Complete maintenance work orders in collaboration with the Maintenance Director.
- Report any unsafe/hazardous conditions within the community.
- Provide transportation for scheduled transportation needs.
- Kindness and a desire to work with the elderly; enjoy working with people in general.
- Ability to work well with people in emotional or stressful situations.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
- Ability to assist in the evacuation of residents if needed.
- Good verbal communication and ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
- Meet health requirements, including TB.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
