Position Details
- Schedule: This is a floater position to cover projects, work hours will be day shift & night shift, locations will vary based on coverage needs. Candidates must have a flexible schedule, including availability on some weekends.
- Pay: $21/hour
- Location: Reports to our main office in Cerritos, CA and must be able to drive to client sites throughout Los Angeles County.
- Requirements: Valid driver's license and clean MVR required.
- Coverage Areas: Los Angeles County
What You'll Do:
As a Floor Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors across various types of spaces, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and in optimal condition. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Floor Cleaning & Maintenance:
Perform regular floor care duties, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing floors to keep them clean and well-maintained. - Floor Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and polishers. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any issues. - Restoration & Repair:
Assist with floor restoration and repairs, including spot cleaning, removing stains, and addressing minor damage to flooring materials. - High-Quality Standards:
Ensure floors meet high standards of cleanliness and safety. Follow detailed cleaning protocols for different types of flooring (e.g., tile, carpet, wood, etc.). - Safety & Compliance:
Maintain safe working conditions by using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment, adhering to safety standards, and following proper procedures for hazardous materials.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in floor cleaning and maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment and follow safety protocols.
- Knowledge of various flooring materials and specific cleaning requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication.

The physical requirements described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. - Must be able to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout an entire shift on various surfaces including concrete, tile, and carpet; ability to climb stairs and navigate multi-floor facilities as needed
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. unassisted frequently; up to 35 infrequently
- Must be able to push and maneuver loaded janitorial carts, trash receptacles, and supply carts weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently; up to 35 infrequently
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and overhead reaching up to 8 feet using a step stool or ladder; repeated twisting and extension of arms and shoulders while mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and wiping surfaces
- Ability to grip, squeeze, and manipulate cleaning tools, spray bottles, brooms, mops, and equipment controls repeatedly throughout the shift; manual dexterity sufficient to operate floor buffers, auto scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, and steam cleaners
- Ability to identify areas requiring cleaning, inspect surfaces for soil and residue, and read product labels and safety data sheets (SDS); ability to distinguish colors sufficient to sort waste streams and identify chemical products
- Must be able to work in environments with varying temperatures including outdoor areas, and high-humidity areas such as restrooms and kitchens; ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and allergens while following all PPE and safety protocols
- Capable of maintaining consistent physical output throughout the shift with standard rest breaks
