    M-F, 4:00 p.m.

    - 8:00 p.m.
  • Calendar: 2385 (12 MONTH) 248 work days, 7 paid holidays, 255 total paid days

  • Performance Pay:
    Available annually
  • New Hire

    Experience:

    1% for two or more years of full‑time experience and an additional 1% per year, not to exceed 5%
  • New Hire

    Education:

    1% of hourly rate for a college degree in a similar field, combined with work experience credit not to exceed 5%
Job Goal

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions
  • Previous custodial experience desired
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Core Job Functions
  • Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish the floors and surfaces
  • Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
  • Clean assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements
  • Empty trash receptacles
  • Perform minor repairs
  • Move furniture and equipment based on the needs of the facility
  • Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
  • Inspect all fire equipment on campus and maintain records of inspection
  • Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs expeditiously
  • Secure the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
  • Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
  • Follow district policies as outlined
  • Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors

Physical Requirements – Heavy Work
  • Ability to work extended periods of time in extreme temperatures
  • Typical duties include stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability
  • Must stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces while performing duties, including push/pull force of up to 100 pounds for various machines
  • Must lift items of various sizes up to 50 pounds; items over 50 pounds require a second staff member
  • May be required to climb ladders and perform various stocking, inventory, cleaning or maintenance tasks
  • May be subject to travel, fumes, odors, chemicals, blood‑borne pathogens, workplace restrictions, cold and/or hot temperatures, and loud noises
  • Physical demands are representative of those necessary to perform essential functions; reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities
