We are seeking a skilled A&P Aircraft Mechanic (General Aviation Piston Aircraft) to join the maintenance team in Chandler, AZ. Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Maintenance & Servicing:
Perform routine servicing, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, 100-hour inspections, and annuals on flight school aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations (Title 14 CFR Parts 43 & 91) and company procedures. - Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, component repairs, and maintenance on piston airframes and engines. - Logistics & Records:
Make accurate aircraft logbook entries and sign off aircraft for return to service. Maintain digital maintenance records using Microsoft Office and Talon RMS computer maintenance systems. - Regulatory Compliance:
Read and interpret technical data including maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, engineering drawings, Service Bulletins (SBs), and Airworthiness Directives (ADs). - Safety & Shop Standards:
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines while working safely around solvents and aviation fuels.
Requirements & Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
- Licensure:
Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required at the time of hire. - GA
Experience:
Minimum of 2 recent years of post-graduation General Aviation (GA) maintenance experience as a certificated A&P. (School/training time does not count toward the 2-year post-graduation requirement). - Piston Fleet Familiarity:
Direct hands-on maintenance experience with single-engine general aviation piston aircraft (e.g., Piper Archer/Cherokee, Cessna 172/152, Diamond DA40/42, or Cirrus). - Tools:
Must possess a basic set of hand tools for standard GA servicing and maintenance. - Computer Literacy:
Proficient with MS Office and comfortable learning digital maintenance management programs (Talon RMS). - Physical Capabilities:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions, and perform prolonged sitting, standing, bending, and stooping.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience on Piper aircraft platforms.
- Hands-on familiarity with Garmin G1000 glass cockpit systems.
- Independent decision-making capability regarding aircraft airworthiness and priority adjustments.
