JOB TITLE: CUSTODIAN
CALENDAR: 2385PT PART-TIME OR 2612H FULL TIME (12 MONTH)
SALARY: GRADE 109 (SUPPORT HOURLY), PLUS ADDITIONAL .45/HOUR LEAD DIFFERENTIAL
SHIFT: 5 AM - 1:30 PM
Job GoalMaintain a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant.
Minimum Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and write English as pertains to job functions
- Progressively responsible custodial experience
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
Job Functions:
- Perform all duties relating to cleaning the school site
- Direct and monitor the work of custodians and provide training on an ongoing basis
- Order custodial supplies
- Provide input to the principal for custodian evaluations
- Accurately maintains and cleans custodial equipment
- Cleans assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements
- Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish floors
- Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
- Empty trash receptacles
- Perform minor repairs
- Move furniture and equipment based on the needs of the facility
- Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
- Be flexible and perform other duties relating to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor
- Monitor and maintain the readiness of all building security, safety systems, equipment, and fire extinguishers
- Follow up on sanitation report deviations
- Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
- Secures the facility, ensuring the building is locked/unlocked as required
- Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
- Follow district policies as outlined
- Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors

- Mobility and lifting require employees to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces. They must be able to use a push/pull force of up to 50 pounds for machines and lift items of up to 30 pounds. Items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to assist.
