The City of Chandler Fire Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Fire Support Services Senior Technician
. The position is scheduled to work a rotating two-week schedule. The first week will be Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. the next week. This schedule will rotate every other week.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

The City of Chandler Fire Department is a progressive, internationally accredited organization with an ISO Class 1 rating and a distinguished history of service to the community. City charter authorizes the Department to mitigate all hazards, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and crisis intervention. In support of those functions, the Fire Department staffs a Fire Prevention Division, EMS and Training Divisions, Mechanical Maintenance Facility, Community Preparedness Office, and Department Administration.

Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are seeking someone who will perform inspections and technical maintenance for the City's self-contained breath apparatus (SCBA) air systems and related fire equipment. This position will also provide support to the Department's EMS operations, including the maintenance and repair of oxygen cascade systems and assisting with the delivery and distribution of EMS supplies and equipment to fire stations and other department facilities.
Minimumqualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED; and
- 3 years of experience in inventory management involving the selection, storing and issuing of a variety of materials and supplies; and
- Factory Certification in maintenance and repair of M.S.A., Draeger, Interspero or similar brand SCBA within three (3) months of hire or promotion; and
- Professional SCUBA Inspector Certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion; and
- a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
- any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Experience repairing, maintaining, servicing, and rebuilding a variety of fire department equipment and tools.
- Experience inspecting, servicing, and maintaining Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), including ensuring SCBA cylinders are properly inspected, tested, and maintained.
- Experience conducting or assisting with firefighter respirator fit testing.
- Experience programming, maintaining, or supporting emergency radio communications equipment.
- Experience reviewing equipment and supply order requests and assisting with purchasing, inventory management, and distribution of department equipment and supplies.
- Experience supporting preventative maintenance and inspection programs to help ensure critical fire and emergency response equipment remains operational, compliant, and ready for service.
- Experience supporting the delivery and distribution of equipment, supplies, and materials to fire stations and other department facilities.
- Experience maintaining and repairing oxygen cascade systems and supporting the distribution of EMS supplies and equipment.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
