POSITION SUMMARYThe Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance, repair, safety, and overall appearance of company facilities. This position helps ensure dealership buildings, service areas, offices, exterior spaces, and equipment remain clean, functional, safe, and professional for employees and customers.
The Facility Maintenance Technician performs routine preventive maintenance, responds to facility-related service requests, coordinates with outside vendors when necessary, and assists with identifying and resolving building or equipment concerns before they become larger issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform routine inspections of dealership buildings, offices, service departments, parking areas, and exterior spaces.
- Complete general facility repairs including minor plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, door, lock, and fixture repairs.
- Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, hardware, and other building components as needed.
- Assist with basic HVAC troubleshooting and coordinate repairs with qualified vendors when necessary.
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and building systems.
- Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and communicate status updates to appropriate management.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance and storage areas.
- Assist with maintaining parking lots, sidewalks, exterior lighting, signage, landscaping-related concerns, and other property conditions.
- Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to correct or report concerns.
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and other dealership materials.
- Assemble and install office furniture, shelving, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
- Coordinate access and work activities with contractors and third-party service providers.
- Monitor facility supplies and notify management when replacement materials or equipment are needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, inspections, and vendor service.
- Support emergency or urgent maintenance needs when required.
- Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and proper procedures when working with tools, equipment, or hazardous materials.
- Assist multiple dealership locations when assigned.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous service when interacting with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous facility maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, automotive dealership maintenance, or similar experience preferred.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and basic building maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, managers, contractors, and vendors.
- Basic computer or mobile device skills for receiving work requests, email communication, and documenting completed work.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required for travel between company locations.
