Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
The incumbent performs routine maintenance and repairs to facilities, structures, equipment and related fixtures primarily at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical center in Charleston, SC. May occasionally be required to perform work at our Myrtle Beach CBOC and other locations as needed.
Major Duties- Incumbent uses a variety of trade practices associated with carpentry, masonry, painting, and other related trades. Incumbent will be required to hang sheetrock, hang wall items, assist construction crew with projects within the Medical Center and CBOCs, hospital signage work, wainscot paneling and trim work, hard vinyl flooring (Centiva) and other duties as assigned Incumbent will be required to paint, prepare wall surfaces for painting, protect surrounding area from painting activity, fume control and trim work.
Incumbent must have knowledge of maintenance trades sufficient to perform routine maintenance tasks and projects.
