CUSTODIAN-WEST VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM-KANAWHA CO.

The West Virginia Department of Tourism seeks an individual to join our custodial team at the Culture Center.

Responsibilities

* Performs routine manual work at the full performance level, cleaning in and around the Culture Center

* May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays during events

* Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in an assigned area

* Other duties as assigned

Examples of Work

* Dusts, cleans, polishes and waxes furniture, fixtures, woodwork and equipment

* Cleans restrooms and replenishes with supplies

* Sweeps, mops and polishes floors, stairs and corridors using a variety of equipment

* Cleans rugs and carpets with a variety of equipment

* Empties trash receptacles

Desired Skills

* Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.

* Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.

* Ability to perform manual work.

* Ability to operate vacuum cleaners and buffers.

* Ability to choose and use appropriate cleaning agents.

This job opportunity is not a Civil Service position and is not covered under the Administrative Rule of the WV Division of Personnel. This position is located at the Capitol Complex in Charleston and requires a full-time work schedule during regular business hours. Remote work is not permitted. Passing a criminal background check is a provision of employment.
