Position Overview
Department:
Atrium Health University City – Environmental Services. Status:
Full time.
Hours:
40 per week, second shift. Pay: $18.85 - $28.30 per hour.
- Perform complete cleaning of assigned areas including dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures; sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors; vacuuming and shampooing carpet; restocking restrooms; replacing light bulbs; reporting repairs.
- Assist with outdoor cleaning such as parking lot, windows, and roof, including the use of ladders.
- Handle heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.
- Remove waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen; emptying trash containers; changing sharps containers; transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors; recycling material; emptying cigarette receptacles.
- Maintain clean and orderly equipment and report equipment failures or mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with procedures, rules, regulations, infection control guidelines, and departmental quality standards.
- Attend required in‑service education and training classes, including safety updates, to maintain technical knowledge.
- Demonstrate the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and complete work in a timely manner.
- Ability to operate equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co‑workers.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive work, work in contaminated, isolation, construction, and renovation areas; occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and unpleasant smells.
