Operations Manager – Commercial Janitorial Services

Citywide Janitorial is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Operations Manager to oversee commercial janitorial accounts, lead field teams, and ensure our clients consistently receive high‑quality service. This position is ideal for a strong operational leader who is comfortable being in the field, managing multiple accounts and priorities, developing employees, and taking ownership of client satisfaction. We are looking for someone who can identify issues before they become problems and execute without needing constant direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned commercial janitorial accounts throughout the Charlotte market.
• Manage and support supervisors, cleaning teams, and subcontractors to ensure service expectations are consistently met.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and quality‑control walkthroughs to identify deficiencies and ensure timely correction.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication, site visits, follow‑up, and proactive problem‑solving.
• Coordinate staffing, schedules, supplies, equipment, and other resources necessary to successfully service assigned accounts.
• Lead new account startups and transitions, including staffing, training, equipment coordination, and implementation of cleaning specifications.
• Review account scopes and work specifications to ensure teams understand expectations and work remains within contracted services.
• Respond promptly to client concerns and operational issues and follow through until they are fully resolved.
• Coach, train, and hold field employees accountable for performance, attendance, safety, professionalism, and company standards.
• Partner with Human Resources and leadership regarding hiring needs, employee performance, disciplinary matters, and staffing changes.
• Complete operational reports, inspections, documentation, and other required administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Participate in weekly management and operational meetings.
• Ensure employees follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and client-specific policies.
• Support specialty cleaning projects and periodic services such as floor care, carpet cleaning, deep cleaning, and post‑construction cleaning when needed.

Must Possess the Following:

• Commercial Cleaning
  
  Experience:
  
  Previous management experience within commercial janitorial, facilities services, or a closely related industry is strongly preferred.
• Leadership
  
  Experience:
  
  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams, supervisors, accounts, and priorities simultaneously.
• Bilingual Preferred: English/Spanish bilingual ability is highly preferred due to regular communication with our field workforce.

  Strong customer‑service mindset with the ability to build relationships and professionally address concerns.
• Operational Ownership: Self‑directed, organized, and capable of making sound decisions without requiring constant supervision.

• Technology Comfortable: Able to work with email, Microsoft Office, mobile applications, inspection/reporting systems, and other operational technology.
• Problem Solver: Able to remain organized and make decisions in a fast‑paced environment where priorities may change throughout the day.

  Must be willing to visit accounts during different shifts, including occasional evenings or early mornings, when operational needs require it.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Our Operations Manager doesn't simply react to problems. This person owns their accounts, knows what's happening in the field, maintains strong relationships with clients, develops their team, and takes action before service issues escalates.
