Maintenance Lead
The Maintenance Lead provides both Maintenance and Reliability services within the plant, championing executional excellence and asset health improvement efforts. The Maintenance Lead will ensure results while partnering with the MFI ARM team, plant maintenance team personnel, plant operational team, and all other plant support teams members for success. The Maintenance Lead will partner with the maintenance workflow process team and will ensure that work orders for plant assets are in the CMMS backlog and are being planned and scheduled effectively.
The Maintenance Lead will work with technicians to ensure that scheduled work orders are properly executed, followed through, documented and value of the job is captured and reported. They will promote, execute, mentor, and coach excellence in preventive and corrective maintenance practices. The Maintenance Lead will become a resource to the plant who constantly focuses on improving the operating condition of equipment and improving the skill sets and performance of the maintenance team.
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. This role must be available to work scheduled work times, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Leading maintenance team members and tasks to ensure personal safety, quality, delivery, and cost, are continuously being improved to achieve company objectives.
- Executing and championing Precision Maintenance® techniques ensuring procedural compliance and that job tolerances are met
- Identifying, developing, justifying, and implementing reliability and performance improvement projects
- Responsible for identifying, coordinating, and facilitating maintenance and reliability training for team personnel
- Leading / assisting craftsman during maintenance assignments
- Leading technical troubleshooting tasks while assisting other plant personnel in a teaching environment
- Executing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks with excellence
- Utilizing MFI approved CMMS to manage, document, and support reliability reporting and decision making. This will be accomplished through the guidance of MFI ARM standards.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records (i.e., SAP data, training documentation, etc..)
- Providing input for root cause analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance to create an environment of continuous asset reliability improvement.
- Promoting, and fostering Michael Foods culture, values, and principles.
- Acting as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviors. Assuming personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhering to all safety policies and procedures and incorporating safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
- Adhering to Quality work practices, following GMP's, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring that product quality is maintained. Reporting conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
- Always ensuring required regulatory compliance.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
- Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate, or experience which demonstrates technical aptitude preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician preferred
- Trained and competent in MFI MTL1, MTL2, & MTL3 skills preferred
- MFI People Leadership Essentials or equivalent training preferred
- Active Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) membership preferred
- Prior experience in SAP preferred.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superb time management skills.
- Excellent administrative and follow-up skills to achieve successful maintenance and repair programs.
