Custodian - Chattanooga, TN

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming office environment. This role ensures daily cleanliness, supports basic facility needs, and helps create a professional workplace that supports employee productivity and well‑being.

• Clean and sanitize offices, conference rooms, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors and carpets
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles daily
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies
• Clean interior glass, doors, and high‑touch surfaces
• Set up and break down meeting rooms as needed
• Perform light maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, reporting repairs)
• Follow safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supply inventory
• Respond to special cleaning requests or spills as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior custodial or janitorial experience required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, walking)

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Dependable and professional
• Strong work ethic
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to conduct oneself in an appropriate manner as a representative of SEC, working effectively in a diverse work environment.
